Quenti Alpaca & Mill is situated about an hour’s drive from the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town, South Africa. What started as humble beginnings in 2009 with only 12 alpacas imported from Chile has since grown to a herd of over 233 alpaca.
Operations soon expanded to include an industrial mill, allowing us to process fibre into a range of yarn. We do almost every stage of production right here on the farm, eventually creating beautifully designed bespoke products. We take enormous pride in caring for our herd and producing our range with a minimal impact on our fragile environment.
The name Quenti was derived from the South American Quenchu word meaning “sunbird”. On most days you will be able to see these colourful birds going about their daily tasks.
